The UniTherm FirePro series is a modular system comprised of multiple light weight pieces. This makes installation of the product much easier, particularly on equipment in hard to reach spaces. Generally one person can install our FirePro system without assistance. There are also no tools required for installation.
removable/reusable
Unlike molded-on coatings, UniTherm's FirePro insulation blankets are removable and reusable. You can easily remove the blankets to operate and service equipment, or place them on new equipment in service. The strapping and Velcro™ closures make FirePro a versatile, and easy to assemble fire protection product.
Molded-on coatings cannot be field applied or removed and can create serious corrosion problems leading to stress corrosion cracking and possibly premature equipment failures. These problems can undermine the integrity of the fireproofing and cause damage to your equipment.
Box and enclosure fireproofing is cumbersome to remove, some require the equipment to be out of operation and uninstalled. This type of fireproofing generally exposes bare insulation creating a highly corrosive environment and requires fire seals to be replaced/reinstalled any time the box is opened to service or operate equipment.
close fitting, shape conforming & flexible
FirePro is supported right on the equipment and does not require any mounting hardware or supports. Its flexible character makes it conform and easily adapt to the exact shape of the equipment assembly. This form fitting cover will generally not obscure or distort the appearance of equipment to the point that it is unidentifiable.
minimum clearance
The equipment requiring fire protection rarely sits in an open space, in fact there is generally very little clearance around actuators and valves to accommodate fireproofing. FirePro blankets fit closely around the equipment and only require a few inches of additional space.
Box or enclosure fireproofing can require a significant amount of space to put in place and may require reconfiguration of the equipment to install. FirePro covers are much more adaptable to complex components and minimal clearances.
