FirePro Construction

FireProof Insulation Blankets

Comprised of two fireproof layers, FirePro systems offer a significant amount of passive fire protection in a UL 1709 fire.

The innermost layer of our FirePro system contains a high-temperature resistant ceramic fiber core surrounded by a gray silicon rubber-coated glass cloth cover.

The outer section of FirePro contains a second layer of ceramic fiber with an interior layer and silicon rubber-coated glass cloth with a fire and weather resistant exterior cover made of PFTE impregnated fiberglass fabric.

Interwoven with PFTE, resins, the blue exterior includes a pigmented PFTE coating that seals the fabric weave. This seal provides an airtight barrier that is impervious to almost any chemical, including acids, caustics and solvents. Once coated, the fabric becomes stain-resistant and easy to clean.

FirePro’s outer fabric has a fairly stiff feel and has excellent abrasion, tear and puncture resistance, making the fabric a durable medium weight fabric for removable insulation blankets.

Fire Resistant Fastening

UniTherm constructs FirePro systems with a fireproof strapping system to ensure blanket functionality in the event of a fire. The system includes fire resistant straps reinforced with high temperature metal mesh and stainless steel buckles. These high-temperature buckles open with a single throw, which offers easy access to equipment and simplifies the removal and installation process.

Design Process

No down time during design - We have a unique design process that utilizes foam molds to create custom covers. Instead of requiring you to send your equipment to us to create custom fittings, we create a foam mold replica and fit your custom covers to it.

  1. All measurements gathered from the field
  2. UniTherm creates a CAD of the equipment
  3. Cut out and assemble foam model
  4. Measure foam model
  5. Design FireProtection System CAD
  6. Produce first blanket
  7. Ensure fit with foam model
  8. Produce remaining like blankets
  9. Install blankets
