Full Scale High Temperature Test Furnace

Full Scale High Temperature Test Furnace

UniTherm operates a full-scale, high-temperature test furnace capable of reaching 2200ºF. Designed and certified to meet UL1709 testing requirements, our furnace provides real-time fire test monitoring for any custom testing scenario.

Capabilities:

  • ASTM E119: Standard test Methods for fire tests of building construction and materials
  • UL 1709: Standard for Safety rapid-rise fire tests of protection materials for structural steel.
  • Any custom time-temperature scenario requested

UniTherm Furnace

Temperatures ranges: ambient - 2000ºF with the potential to reach a maximum of 2200ºF

BTU: 1.64 million

Fire test monitoring: Up to 30 type K thermocouples

Furnace Exposure envelope: 1.5 x 1.5 x 1.5 meters

4 high pressure natural gas burners with the capabilities of operating 1-4 burners as needed to meet the required fire exposure regime.

The furnace has viewports to allow protected observation of the sample test for digital pictures or video.

Thermal imaging / Thermography performed prior to and after testing sample upon customer request.

Data acquisition: Burner output and test assembly instrumentation are monitored with a high speed data acquisition system. Furnace temperatures are monitored with quick response type K Inconel sheathed thermocouples recording readings every 1 second(s). All thermocouples and instrumentation used for critical measurements are verified and traceable to NIST standards.

A completed test package consists of testing chart data, time-temperature curve procedures, pictures and/or video of test. Before and after Thermography of sample upon customer request.

Mini Furnace: Same capabilities as large test furnace but for smaller applications and cost effectiveness.
